Perfect for Strolling to the River Walk and Alamo!

This beautiful historic hotel offers a fantastic base just steps away from the vibrant River Walk and the iconic Alamo, making it easy to explore all the nearby attractions like the Historic Market Square and the Tower Life Building, plus you can indulge in various dining options such as the Menger Bar and Johnny Rockets, creating a delightful experience during your strolls around the city; however, the room temperature could use some improvement since the AC was a bit noisy and struggled to cool effectively.

nice hotel but missing the mark on some details

The pool is pretty nice, perfect for a refreshing dip after a long day. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the hotel's historical charm adds a unique touch with art and sculptures everywhere.

The bathroom was tiny and felt outdated.

Plus, the location is best possible and historic, minutes from The Alamo Fort. The units are well-kept and nicely decorated with a balcony.

The room was tiny and dark, with barely any light. The bathroom door wouldn’t lock, and I couldn’t enjoy a good night’s sleep due to the loud noise from the hallways.

The room featured a comfortable bed and ample space, allowing for a relaxing stay. Noise levels were a concern, as sounds from adjacent rooms and the bustling outside area disrupted sleep at times. Temperature control was limited, with the thermostat unable to go below 71 degrees. A box fan was promptly provided upon request, which helped. The bathroom was well-equipped, though the overall smell in the room was a bit off-putting. Room service was indeed commendable, adding a touch of comfort to the experience despite a few management hiccups.

The hotel was cool, the room was impressive and I loved amicable staff. The property was set in a central area near other activities, Alamo and the building. Meals were excellent, and there was Dick's Last Resort near the hotel.

Hotel is charming and full of history, right next to the Alamo. The walls are thin, so the noise from neighbors can be a problem.

Charming historic hotel experience

The Menger Hotel boasts an enchanting atmosphere with beautiful gardens and an impressive lobby. The staff went above and beyond, accommodating my requests for a rollaway bed and a box fan. Don't miss the iconic Menger Bar for a taste of local history. a lovely stay despite minor inconveniences.

The total stay was really nice with good service. The location in a very very nice area was unbeatable and excellent and there were shopping malls and a market nearby. It included pretty good restaurant for breakfast.

The bed was comfortable, and the furnishings appealed to my taste. the valet service was subpar. Long waits and our car was left unlocked overnight—a significant security oversight. Housekeeping missed cleaning a glass of wine left in our room. Staff were friendly and genuine, particularly Tim at the front desk. The pool was lovely, and the scent in the lobby was unique, enhancing the ambiance. Dining options exceeded expectations, but the room's cleanliness could improve. Despite some quirks, the experience was enjoyable and memorable.
